My thuper duper awesome friend Jenn has a little band called The Lonely Wild and they just released their first album Dead End. It's really great and so are they so you should head on over to their site and pick one up for yourself before their all gone!
Art Los Angeles is here again January 27th-30th. This year it has moved to the Barker Hanger which is where you'll find me.
I can't believe I haven't seen CocoRosie's video for Lemonade until recently. It's official, I'm letting my beard grow out too.
...yes I know its Tuesday but I've been busy guuurl!
Here are the mood boards for a couple of the projects I have been working on the past few weeks (and the reason I haven't been the best blogger lately). I am redesigning two recording studios, the first has more of a eclectic, laid back but still put together vibe.
The second is more of a sophisticated European mens lounge with a little "glitta glamma" for the ladies. So far everything is still in the getting swatches, measuring walls, and ordering floors stage but I will definitely post the end result when I get there.
What you lookin at? Oh that amazing new skull on my wall...yeah me too...so is my dog (she literally stares at it and groans/cries/gets really close to speaking English cause she wants to eat it so bad). I finally made it over to Necromance on Melrose and I'm glad I did, they have tons of real and resin antlers and after much ado I settled on the real deal.
Oh! The sconce is finally gone and patched over! I'm not in love with the cover but I was even less in love with a sconce dictating where I hung my art, so yay!
Ugg! When is someone going to make beautiful bar stools that the average person (moi) can afford!? I love the Perch stools from Anthropologie but at almost $400 a pop they're just gonna have to remain a dream.
Here's a music video my man Justin recently shot for Big Dick, a pretty awesome Little Richard cover band. If your in Los Angeles I highly recommend seeing one of their live shows. Two words...dance party!
I've been slowly sprucing up the house, changing things around and all that since its been so cold and rainy and I'm stuck inside. Here are a few of the changes I've made. I bought this mirror about a month ago and I'm still not sure how I feel about it. I was looking for something old and mottled with a simple wood frame, this one's definitely got the mottled thing going on but the frame is a bit ornate, not to mention bronze. It does look pretty nice next to my little bobble head lamb though.
I finally bought a frame for the letterpress print by Jason Munn for the book The Small Stakes Music Posters. I was pretty excited when I found that the pre-cut matt at Ikea fit the print like a glove. Woo woo!
And last but not really last cause I've been doing a ton more little home improvements that I will share when they're done...on my trip to Ikea I hit up the As-Is section first (it's kinda my rule) and found out that my unattractive but super comfortable couch is being discontinued so I scored a ton of new covers and pillows for pretty much nothing. I'm into all the pillows. Oh yeah, I just wanted to show off my super awesome prism paper weight I picked up at the Pirate Supply Store while up in San Francisco, ta-da!

george kovacs 12" pendant, A110 pendant, ET2 mini pendant, luna cord pendant, west elm industrial pendant
I've been scouring the internet for great looking, not so expensive pendants for the kitchen in my parent's rental cottage and this is some of what I have found. I was really surprised to find these new industrial pendants at west elm. You can choose the color of your cord and shade which comes in a variety of sizes...I might have to pick up one for myself.
